We try to give as many colour choices as possible per design & give you actual product swatches as colour options on our website. Please be aware that we will not be responsible if the colour is not what you expected it to be at the time of purchase. Because all our products are custom made and cannot be returned for reasons of colour, please make sure that you understand that colour variations are possible from our photography of the actual products.

Goddess Saraswati is worshipped on Vasant Panchami also known as Shri Panchami or Saraswati Panchami to get enlightened with knowledge and to get rid of lethargy, sluggishness and ignorance. This ritual of initiating education to children is known as Akshar-Abhyasam or Vidya-Arambham/Praasana which is one of the famous rituals of Vasant Panchami.

ॐ असतो मा सद्गमय ।
Om, (O Lord) Keep me not in the Unreality (of the bondage of the Phenomenal World), but lead me towards the Reality (of the Eternal Self)

तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय ।
(O Lord) Keep me not in the Darkness (of Ignorance), but lead me towards the Light (of Spiritual Knowledge),

मृत्योर्मा अमृतं गमय ।
(O Lord) Keep me not in the (Fear of) Death (due to the bondage of the Mortal World), but lead me towards the Immortality (gained by the Knowledge of the Immortal Self beyond Death)

ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः ॥
Om, (May there be) Peace, Peace, Peace (at the the three levels - Adidaivika, Adibhautika and Adhyatmika).

Presenting the “Tamaso Maa Jyotirgamaya” choli that is our attempt to interpret the journey from Darkness of Ignorance to the Light of spiritual knowledge. The choli in Black represents the Darkness of Ignorance. The Saraswati Kolam in white mimics the rice flour paste & Lamp of knowledge itself. The red & yellow dots on the kolam are representation of the flames of the Lamp of Learning.
A fully hand painted choli in black raw silk with a faux pocket rangoli detailing on the right front for drama.
